Seems like I saw this one in a book about traditional hot rods.

I believe that book is "Motorbooks Workshop How to Build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod "

I''l play. I'd say that you almost have to run big and little for not only the aesthetics but to fill the fenders. I've 15x6s on the front with 215s and 15x7s on the rear with 235:75s.

Have you looked at the Stahl Excelsior Sport radials? They have some that tall, but I don’t know what the load range is. I have 7.50 x 16s on the rear and they’re 31.6 inches tall.

    Hello,

After looking at @ddenny and his roadster tires, it was nice to see some classic big and little tire combinations. Then I remembered a Bantam Coupe that had another set of large tires on the rear somewhere on the HAMB. This led the memory trail back to the early 70s when I was taking photos of a custom-built (A Cave Enclosure Look )Harley trike, from some early magazine build articles. It had one of the biggest and widest set of rear wheels that I had ever seen on any vehicle.
    upload_2021-4-18_3-54-48.png
These huge tires were a fleeting memory from being in close proximity to the newly seen wide, Goodyear Eagle Tires.
    upload_2021-4-18_3-53-7.png
But recently, I was getting new tires for my wife’s station wagon and was sitting next to this HUGE Goodyear Eagle Tire. I was amazed that this tire was so large. Compared to my size 12 sandal, it made at least two lengths of the sandal size. That is wide.

When I got home I was looking at some of Dave Bell’s Artwork and up pops several of his wide tire creations. His perception of wide tires has always been impressive being included in his fantastic art work.

Then, those wide grooved tires from the Dave Bell Artwork made my mind wander and go around in a full circle, back to @DDENNY and his cool knockoffs/wide tires on his roadster.

Funny how the old hot rod mind works when you are having fun… Small world, Big tires...

I've seen very few old rides with the same size tire all around that looked right to me. Big and littles just look right, and give the car a nice stance, even if the car sits dead level.

Bigs & Littles……This is a 15 yr in the making PC3-SO-CAL project that has recently found a new home with the Lorenzini’s “Oak Canyon Speed Shop”.
I christened it “Nightfire”. This definitely suits the threads content.
