My wife told me she liked presents that are useful. I gave her a snow shovel. Guess how big that went over.

Not to put a downer here, but while I was married I did get one gift for me, she got me a shop broom, trash picker up thing. Everything else was “I got us this”.
Well, I did get to keep the kids:)

I had a friend like that, the first year they we married he bought his wife a big diamond ring, nice cloths and a 500 dollar gift certificate to the mall, in return he got a cheap small red tool box that was empty, that's it.

The next Christmas he was single.

Wifey got me a custom made calendar with my past 12 customs and hot rods on it. I only have 4 of the 12 left but great memories as I turn the pages each month.

Santa left me another four banger. This one is another open red sled with an OHV, 318 CID engine. It ain't a Ford, but, sometimes its good to be different. It's got three flat tires and no spares. However, it is just what I always wanted!!!!

Wife gave me a set of four wheel dollies so I can move the 36 around. But the best gift of all was having our kids, grandkids & great grandson with us.

  11. My 2 sons got me a bead roller, in anticipation of building floor pans for my 34, a Firestick so I can check Youtube videos in garage, mother in law got me a set of crow's foot wrenches, and brother in law sent me up a box of tune up tools and pullers, and Santa dropped of a couple new wash mitts.

  12. No cool car parts.:( But my best gift was having my Dad, daughters, and grandkids here for Christmas. :) They never give me car parts. But they do give me Hot wheels, Hot Rod magazines, and a lot of car cleaning stuff. So much so each year. That I should open up an Auto Zone! lol. Merry Christmas, and Happy new year. Hello,

Since we have a nephew who is a fanatic about hot rods and cars overall, every time we see him, it is fun to connect. There is always a Hot Wheel, Matchbox, or Greenlight Hot Rod to give to him. When he goes to his “other” grandmother’s house, he has my son’s collection of 100’s of Hot Wheels, Matchbox and Corgi Cars to play with while visiting. Whenever we used to meet for a family gathering, I always had one of those little 1/64 cars in my pocket ready to give to him.

This year was odd as we did not see him since January of 2020. So, when his birthday came up in November, we had no car to give him. So, I opened a new red 32 Ford Coupe with a Hemi motor and a got a nice scalloped surfboard for the top. He is just starting to surf and I saw a video of him standing up riding a surfboard, even in the winter. So, that little flamed 32 hot rod was a missing hole in the collection.

Since I was missing this new red 32 Ford Coupe I gave away, mysteriously, it appeared in this year’s Christmas present grouping. Since I have been listening to my wife all of these years, I guess she was also listening to my comments on little cars, high school cars and surf adventures. So, up pops a new 32 Ford with a flashy motor, a 55 Chevy that I am going to make a copy of my friend’s high school cruiser, minus the motor/headers and lower the whole body to a Cal Rake model. If I have time, I will fill in the arched rear wheels.

Finally, someone was really listening as I was going to make a snow globe with a 1940 Ford Station Wagon inside and give it to our granddaughter as a side light present, since she will be driving by next Christmas. So, I need to get going now on the design and sparkle fairy lights, as well as a snowy globe.

Over the recent holidays, we found a small collection of early cassette tapes from our son as a little toddler. His voice was a little squeaky, but distinct. We had never backed up the tapes for our family history, so my wife got this cassette to digital recording device. Now, if I can find the time between naps to do the transformation, then… we will have voice recordings from his toddler days, along with some old videos, too.

A garage project needed item was a “speed out” set of drills to take out broken bolts in just about any size of project. That should help out on the old rusted screws. And finally, while doing that garage work, I needed a Bluetooth powered music source. I have a first generation Ipod Music Player. It still runs well and the screen is a little hazy, but the recorded music plays through all of these years. That was the primary source of music in the garage and traveling on our road trips. So, it would be better for me to have one that has Bluetooth connections.

Now, I can walk around in the garage or yard with only a small wireless ear phones for sound while taking down the Christmas Lights and Decorations, as well as yardwork that always seems to pop up monthly.

I got this handy dandy tool for fetching those bits and pieces that always roll under the car when you drop them. Has a LED light, is magnetic and extends to 31 inches.

I got enough gift cards to get the roll away tool box base I want and a set of bumper wings for my 40. Still virus free, wife and kids also, that is a gift.
