Still making some tweaks to the car. Ride height and dampening on rear coil-overs needed adjusting. Fuel tank sending unit wasn’t communicating with original SW fuel gauge, so needed an adapter. Wheels, tires, interior are still the only big projects left to do. Took it on a fairly long drive today (6 mile round trip, got up to 50 mph) to get it inspected. Now just need my plates and registration. Rides nice, but like a 90 year old car! It’s actually pretty dang fast. Attached a couple of photos from today. I dry-laid the original interior panels in the car just to see how hey look.

You did the original justice and fulfilled your dad's dream. I think that is wonderful.

Still a lot of work to do:
    - need to replace original dash insert with new, machine turned one. And install turn signal lamps into holes where choke and starter button used to go. And get old Sun Tachometer re-done with new electrics
-need new wheels and tires. Found a guy on the H.A.M.B. that sells vintage chrome slot wheels with necessary offset/backspacing we need to fit up under fenders better. Also want to put on skinny whitewall tires like the car had originally
    - need entire interior re-done (original vinyl, but new foam and backing material)

All of this before the Lone Star Roundup in April (if it is still happening). Just more time and money, right?

In the video, is that young man in the front seat with you the same one in your avatar? That boy has grown!
Congrats to the whole family! Nicely done.

No sir! That’s my youngest boy in the car with me and my oldest taking the video. My avatar is from 50 years ago-that’s my Dad with the roadster when he first bought it, and my younger sister, who is now 56!

Riff you are actually highlighting comfort in this primitive Auto that can be ergonomically improved with the inspiration still intact...I have a period seat and it sure doesn't make me walk better after even a moderate drive...it's also an opportunity to better position oneself with the cabin as you are not your Dad height wise and many times we inherit the Builders setup which may have been fit to their frame...

I look forward with my chopped top and rubber rake right into the Header panel...so making it work for you is again understandable

I could use mods in that area as well...You know what's best for you...

OOPS - my bad! Sorry for the mistaken identity. Has your sister seen the transformation from then to now?

Some leftover goodies from the “RiffRaff Roadster” build. Not sure what to do with it. Swap meet? Store for future generations? Build a rat rod? [IMG][IMG][IMG]

The trailing arms and rear spring are good to repurpose, shy away from the "R__ rod" term...

Left over parts are just clues to the next one ;)

  27. Many good parts there; that somebody could use. You would think there would be a million of those old Chevy oil filter cans sitting around; except when you look for one.

I fared better than most in San Antonio. My power was only out for 24 hrs, and no water outage, but we have a fireplace and plenty of firewood and candles. Others had no power or water for days, which was really hard on them. Thanks for asking.
