    Merry Christmas y'all !

'42 stock 59A.....I am looking at putting on a pair of Brockman Mellowtone 12" body/18" overall x 2" mufflers and am looking for some feedback from anyone who might be running these and how they like them, or maybe not so much ? I have considered running straight pipes but ????

Anyway, curious to see what your thoughts are.

    Thanks in advance

Used them on several cars, high quality product.
Install as close to the front as possible, and use 1 3/4'' tailpipes to the bumper.

  3. The traditional sound for flatheads has been 1 3/4" pipe into packs of your choice (or no mufflers for those who like a little more noise). I went with 1 3/4" pipe into generic 16" glass packs on my stock '47.

I'm running the 12" Brockman glasspacks on two of my cars. The stock 239" in my '51 with 1 3/4" pipes and mufflers just rear of the transmission (stock) has a mild pure '50s rumble. The built 286" in my '32 with 2" pipes and mufflers placed just ahead of the rear axle has a totally different sound; radical and loud! Compression and cam choice makes a big difference!

Back in the day (1968) I had a 239 in my '53 Ford Sedan Delivery and straight pipes out to the back bumper. I used 1 and 3/4" off the manifolds and then used 3 and 1/2 " diameter drive shafts from the rear axel to the bumper. Nice sound and in the budget for a 16 year old...
