After painting my roadster wheels yellow they needed something besides the hubcaps. Didn't want beauty rings as once on that's it, you take them off you've got big scratches. I saw some post here on old stock pinstriped wheels and thought it would look good on my rims. I bought a Beugler pinstripe tool as I have no experience with hand pinstriping and doubt my hands are steady enough anymore. I made a jig to hold and swing the Beugler tool. Below are a series of photos that show the process. I think they came out pretty good, your thoughts?
Photo 1: Original pinstriped wheels seem in another post.
Photo 2: Plain painted rim w/hubcap.
Photo 3: Rod and plates to center and hold Beugler tool.
Photo 4: Rod mounted on wheel.
Photo 5: Valve stem hold back thingy.
Photo 6: Beugler tool and adapter.
Photo 7: Tool ready to paint on wheel.
Photo 8: Tool starting to paint.
    Photo 9: Complete 1st stripe.
Photo 10: Close up of stripes.
    Photo 11: Finished wheel.

I've always liked the factory pin striped wheels. To me, they add a note of " period correctness " to the '40's and '50's cars. Yours came out extremely well, good job

Excellent!! love pinstriped wheels--all of my 40's have had them by a local striper-really adds a nice detail.

IMG_1880.JPG Nice Job! I did single stripes with a makeshift guide and found it difficult to match up at the start finish. Yours look great.

Very nice work/tech, thank you! Perhaps you can convince Ford to bring this back and then be the head honcho of the program...

  27. That's good enough for government work.
Your jig for centering and making the circuit is probably equal to anything the factory had. I award you the 'AT'A'BOY of the week!
