    Merry Christmas greetings HAMB..

I'm on the 'Friends Fuck-up a Forty Ford' scale model contest on FB. I'm working up a 1/25 scale custom sedan delivery. A spin- off has been this lil' Hot Wheels job I cobbled together.

Mark, love the wagon. My dad bought one as a “left over” in late ‘60. As a family, went all over in it. Big & wide.

    Hello,

During my sophomore year of high school, I was given a ride in a friend’s 1954 white
(I think) newish Corvette. He and I detailed it to no end and the result was a shining sporty car for the Bixby Knolls cruising area. Despite it being daylight, we cruised to the drive-in restaurant parking lot for a gravy/fries/Cherry Coke combination. With the top down, it was a couple of teenagers just enjoying the So Cal sunny day. For football, we had buzz cuts, so there was no wind in the hair, blowing in the wind scenario. It did not make a difference, as we were two teenagers riding around in a 1954 Corvette.

As far as power? That 6 cylinder had some, but, it was not the neck snapping power of the 348 /280+ HP of the 1958 Impala. It was a sporty car and girls usually liked sporty cars. The reception we got at the parking lot was pretty cool. Everyone wanted to know where we got the white (I think) 54 Corvette. It was my friend’s dad’s new toy, but if we detailed it, we could use it for the day. Of course, my friend said it was his new car.

Now the 61 year old memory says it was White, but for some reason it may have been bright Red. To make the 54 Corvette racy looking, we had taken off the hubcaps and it looked like it came from Lion’s Dragstrip.

The RED color memory comes in better as it gets to be the holiday times. But, it could have been white, too. It was an automatic, not a stick shift, but we did not care. A couple of teenagers that just won a trophy in the Sports Car Class at Lion's Dragstrip was the look we portrayed. It was low slung, and with the top off, we were styling in the wind.

  19. Not real artsy, but drew up a sign for a grandson of a co-worker yesterday that we will waterjet out of 14 gauge steel. The grandson is less than 2 and still in a crib and they plan to hang this on the wall above the crib. Maybe it will plant a seed. :D Oh, and the parents mis-spelled “Blaze”...not me.

    Ron,

My dad grew up on a farm in West Chester, PA and has LOTS of great memories and stories about life on their farm, and this pic reminded me of one-

My dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather were driving home one night in the '30 A Rumbleseat Coupe and got stuck in a snow drift. They were close enough to home that they left the car and walked home. The next morning, they went to dig out the car, but could't find it... until my great-grandfather put his shovel down, and hit the ROOF of the car :D... needless to say, they had a little more digging to do than expected :D
