My guess is that since nobody has seen this car finished, the project got shot down.

 

You could say it was a flight of fancy...

 

If you read the newspaper clipping, it states he decided to build a touring body for it, so it sounds as though the airplane parts flew the coop....

 

...when a belly tank racer just won't do.
