Technical 302 ford c4 app??

    well getting ready to install 302 ford in a 41 ford pickup going to use a c4 can't remember the combination. do I need a spacer plate between block and tranny or do they go together flush! tell me your thoughts? humbly john!

    yes, spacer plate is needed

    also does that apply when mating a small block c6 to a ford 302 as well???? thanks hambers for the information you guys are the best!!

    All of the FORD engines I have fooled with ( and that is a lot!) have a block plate that goes on before the flywheel is installed.....

  7. Just to ad to this, the block plate is designed for the flywheel size. Usually 164 or 157 tooth flywheel. There are a few strange ones out there that require different starters.
