Original paint 1939 WA. state 100th anniversary plate on my 39 Willys. D designates Snohomish county where I reside. The Topper is from a MA. Studebaker dealership, eBay guy had some NOS, couldn't resist. One of these days I'd like to make a frame that incorporates the topper.....just another one of those projects. Have a buddy who is a license plate dealer, so when looking for old plates I went to see what he had. He had 5 sets pf minty 1939 Oregon plates, and one nice but slightly tarnished set. But that set had a unique number I liked the best. He gave the pair to me for my '39 Chevy.

The plates aren't anything special, especially since the DMV now offers 'retro' plates (which really pisses me off). The cool thing (at least I think so) is the pair of frames I scored from the dealership that sponsored Jack Chrisman's Super Cyclone.....

    It’s pretty crusty but it’s a daily. 72A16923-3185-4205-A033-13170558BED9.jpeg 0B1D2744-452E-406F-98CA-C9E7BBCE3EE9.jpeg

NC let's you display any plate you want on a classic vehicle as long as you have the registered plate in the car.

Well, I am thumbs down on this one, I never can see the point of having a hot rod that is built to reflect how a hot rod built in 1960 or what ever should look and then putting 1932 plates on it. Worse yet is these guys with billet everything and big ugly wheels on their mid 60's or 70's rides with YOM plates.

Restored to better than showroom fresh original as it would have rolled out the door of the dealership the day it was bought new? Yes that is cool.
