Mine are pretty worn after the years. I recall the day I could just push them on and pump away. Now I’m tired of using 3 hands to hold the tip onto the zerk. I went to NAPA store, same brand as hanging on the AZ shelf. Not sure if worth a shit or not
For standard jaw couplers Lincoln-SKF or Alemite-SKF. There are all kinds of fancy locking types out there as well, if you are into that kind of thing.
SKF catalog. There is a "where to buy" on the website. I have a 40+ year old Stewart Warner/Alemite 500 that the original tip is still tight. I've sold them at several places over the years. Always good. Mike https://www.skf.com/binaries/pub234...Product-Catalog_tcm_234-543941.pdf#cid-543941
Ya. Was about to pull everything off and refit wit old Cat stuff, you slid it over and it locked in. The realized I would be able to turn the wheels anymore. lol.
I get the ones that are impossible to remove off the fittings once I'm done greasing them. It takes a pair of vise grips and a hammer at times.
I got tired of that years ago and bought a pistol grip grease gun that I could work with one hand and hold the hose with the other.
NAPA has two types, power grease gun or hand grease gun, get the power ones, they hold up better. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/BK_7151538?r-src=SSE:PDP&ppid=BK_7151145
I just converted one of my grease guns to a locking tip, and love it! I've still got my compact one hand grease gun to get into tight areas, but I use the locking tip on my big gun with a flex hose for 95%, and it works fantastic.
I’ve got several grease guns, one with a slightly bent tube , one I made with pipe fittings that goes out about eight inches and had a right turn and a fitting. One with a flex hose and an air powered one with a flex hose and a pistol grip wit a flex hose. Which one I grab depends on the job. My friend has a cordless battery powered grease gun that is real handy! There are some new locking tips that are supposed to be good, but I haven’t tried them yet. Bones
