Extraordinary design and engineering, rolled up in a personal luxury car. Jazz era Hot Rod? You be the judge. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Jakespeed, the Marmon 16s were and are a fabulous car. They are really powerful and quiet and smooth. A friend of mine owns four of them. I have had a few rides in them that make me smile and got behind the wheel a few times myself. Here is a picture of me driving the wife across the bricks at Indy for the 100 anniversary celebration. Indy of course offers these pictures when you cross the bricks. This particular car is a 32 with a Le Baron body.
A friend of mine owns a beautiful '32 sedan. Those aluminum cylinder heads had a fatal flaw that rears its head after 80 years. To remedy this he got together with other Marmon owners and they cast their own new cylinder heads with modern technological upgrades in manufacturing and materials technology. I call that hot rodding.
If you're ever near Fulton, MO, the Auto World Museum has a Marmon. https://www.autoworldmuseum.com/1931-marmon-series-16-limo.html
