Could it finally come to be?

Poured a 5 main aluminum block this morning for a waiting customer. Shook out the outside after waiting for an hour, or so, to see how it looks. I am very pleased with what I could see. We will finish shake out next week, cut off all the gating and then it will join some aluminum Thomas heads at heat treat asap.

December opens well..Saturday in exchange for some work on Bobcat and a Case backhoe I get to pick a brothers parts stash.. never pass up the opportunity to control the situation and torture a friend..."dance them, dance the parts over here" :)

So - went out the other day on a little trip to bed in the replacement engine in the Coupe. Couple of friends tagged along. The black sportscar is a 1930 Standard Avon Special No. 3 fitted with an A engine topped off with a Riley 2-port. The polished special is Austin 7 based with an adaptor plate to fit an all aluminium 750cc SOHC Coventry Climax four cylinder to the original running gear. Tis a bit revvy.

Managed to get my cars all tucked up in the dry (-ish - the roof leaks a tad when the wind is in the wrong direction).

And here's one from the past. Before I'd even built my hotrod, and on a flooded campsite in the late 1980's I guess.
Spencer trailered his undriven and freshly built A engined '27T roadster there, just so we could ridicule him for building the axle upside down. Three reverse gears and one forward does not a hot rod make... Fair play - we mustered together, stripped and flipped the axle innards so he could leave happy.

Checking in from S. Utah. Picture of my top getting ready for upholstery in TJ. Looking forward to taking the roadster south in a few days and picking up the top. Resized_20201203_114339_633.jpeg

  23. Oh I wont! She's a keeper, she steals my A from time to time. She keeps bugging me to finish her car.

  24. Oh she'll take one, if youre buying!

  25. Looks like one of Pat Gary's two piece heads. Pat, of Paso Robles Calif., also makes a cam cover that has a drive for a distributor! Castings finished with CNC

Modified flathead is the only way to go..want to go OHV? Slap a mercruiser in it and spend the money you save on another car
