I’ve always been a Ford pickup fan and these 42-47’s were never my favorites but I just had to have one the same year as me, so here’s my ‘46. I built it in the early ‘90’s. I’ve had to quit driving it recently because the tires are the ones that I put on it when I built it. New tires are on the agenda. Oh yeah, the most unusual thing about it is the Optima battery that was installed when built and never had a charge or trickle charger on it. It’s been sitting for a couple months now and it will start with no problem 67A6E54E-1044-4DD3-9BFF-43911C37045A.jpeg

I’m sure I mentioned it somewhere before, but while out looking for a L6 218 a guy had a “‘42 Ford PU”. All the front end stuff was in the bed. I thought this guy is nuts, cars weren’t made during the war. So I bought. Just knowing it had to be a ‘41.

well, after unloading things when I got home, then a run to the library to see what the heck I bought. Lol.
It did grow on me after putting it back together and getting it on the road.
Hated to see it go but had to.

They’ll always have a place in my stall if another inexpensive one comes up!

Yes Scrapbmxrider you heard correct. I have a '42 and the only chrome is the die cast Ford emblem on the hood, everything is painted. Some '45 were built but the ford script was embossed thru to '47. Not sure if a Mercury was available as Canada was involved with the war effort by then.

I bought one several years ago to keep it from getting crushed, but I don't have a title for it. It's really complete. I'd love to fix it up if I could come up with a title. Lots of nice ones in this thread.

Here's my jailhouse Ford, a 1942. Made late 1941, before they switched to making bombers. tempImagecVYL9F.png
