I'm having trouble finding 165/80-15 and 235/75-15 tires of the same brand. Anyone have any luck without going to coker or diamond back?

    Thanks
    Dennis

I have run different brand tires front/rear, I like radials, bias ply before radials were available, to get the big/little sizes I wanted, No problems. Never mix radials with bias ply IMO, the handling is very different. The narrow front tires are getting hard to get in the 70/75/80 sidewall, trailer tires seem to be available with the tall side wall. I've been buying tires for 57+ years, most brands, some better than others, with my hobby cars that sit, I've had good luck with BF Goodrich not flat spotting. Try tirerack.com, huge site, selection, specs, prices, if they don't have it, you're SOL. We had Coker bias ply on a classic car, no problems, check threads here on Coker, Diamondback, seemed to be a lot of unhappy guys with product and service. Good Luck.

I realize my sizes are a little different but maybe close enough. 155/80-15 and 255/70-15. B F Goodrich TA Radials from Discount Tires.

image.jpeg image.jpeg Did you try one of the tire websites? Punch in the harder size 165x80x15" when those brands pop up start with your favorite then hit available sizes and see if they have what you need . Did that on my 40 with diff . Sizes 195x65x15" and 225x75x15" .Had 2 diff choices picked the one with the most normal tread ( closest to bias look) then I DA sanded off all the letters off the sidewalls to try to make them look more like bias ply . I think BF Goodrich makes a 165x80x15" ? Good luck

Just look at it like sports coat and slacks. You don't want a near match on tread as folks will say you missed. Just get a rear with an obviously different tread and don't worry if not same manufacturer.

When I was buying tires for my Sunliner a couple years ago I had a hard time getting them from the same brand from those discount tire stores,I had to go to a real tire store and unfortunately they are a import brand but are doing good.

  13. I have had good luck finding same brand same style (name?) tires with cooper tires. You may note that even with the same brand same style tires there can be tread differences in different sizes.
