Needing help on my headlight switch for my 63 C10 pickup.
I was able to pull the light switch plunger control out by pushing the little springed button on the side. But after cleaning off the mouse droppings and pee the light plunger won't reconnect and just goes in and out of the plunger hole with out locking back in place even when pushing in on the springed button to relock the light plunger. All help is much appreciated.

    Thank You

You have to hit it JUST RIGHT on older switches, and will drive you crazy.

try adding a very small amount of oil to the end of the rod, which might help things move around enough so it will click into place.

Thank You both for your help I will keep trying and will add a "little oil" to the tip of the plunger.
You both have a great day...

One slight difference in the light switches in my 63 C10 on back to the 60 C10 from the next generation C10 (64-66) is the length of the push/pull light plunger.
The 63 C10 (black tip light plunger) on back has a longer push/pull light plunger then the 64-66 C10 (Chrome-Blk tip light plunger) it's about a 1/4" in length difference.
I picked up a 65 C10 Custom for extra Parts and thought I could use just the light switch plunger from the 65 C10 Custom in my 63 C10 light switch but I soon found out it was shorter then my 63 C10.
Hope this helps other's with the 60-66 C10's light switch.
Thank you 59Apachegail for your help you have a wonderful evening.
