Got my new hot rod home. Now for some winter mods. I'm looking for Lake Headers (with out the down tubes for out the back hook up) Anyone know where to get them ??
Have you ran Lake headers wide open before? In my opinion, you should leave it as it is, as it looks right on.... but you didn't ask for an opinion and I should have kept it to myself, but I can't because I 've been there before and besides driving your hearing to deafness, the exhaust smell at stop lights will nearly kill you and your clothes will stink to high heaven.
Man, i wouldn't mess with that.....i'm a flathead guy, but you have got ONE VERY FINE rod there; and that engine/headder set up is just plain NICE.
man ya'll know two of the funniest things ive heard my entire career is , "this car needs nothin" and "this car is finished" you can pick a gnarly death trap t bucket or a riddler winner take it home put it in the garage and 1/2 an hour later internal thoughts are saying " man you know what it just needs this here" THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A DONE CAR that being said we just cant help ourselves tinkering when there is no tinkering left so we re think our tinkering and do it again ,,, life of a hot rodder fabricator john miss you dad
A pet peeve of mine is open exhaust on a bone stock low compression motor. Unless that thing has some compression and decent size cam they sound a lot like a B John Deere or some other garden tractor.
I had coated Geardrive headers on my tudor. They were too loud for me open, but not as bad once I installed baffles. If I had kept the car, probably would have put a full exhaust under it, maybe with some cast ramshorn manifolds.
You do know that you have a rare commodity there, an unchopped roof. Actually looks really good. Enjoy your new ride.
