I expect to be retired from my fulltime job by then so I won't even have to request vacation time! This is great news!

We have to wait another whole year for the return of the Meltdown Drags? I hardly know what I'm doing next weekend, but now I have plans for August 2022! Welcome back

James { aka Salt flats} are you reading this ? I get to chase the Saltshakers Taillights next September at Fall out, but I also get to find out how much faster I need to be to get your taillights closer at the final Meltdown! lol Who knows maybe this final Meltdown will be like the KISS farewell tour, it just keeps going and going! lol looking forward to 2022 ! Can we at least have a good old 18 month long talk smack Meltdown thread here on the HAMB!! Larry

I plan to have a new 56 Chevy at the event.

This car was originally built by R&B Automotive in Kenosha, Wi. That was the shop run by Dennis Rolain and Little Jon Buttera.

The car was built in 1966 and changed owners and raced until the early 70’s. The last owner had it for 45 years, but all but 5 of those years were sitting disassembled in a building.

The craziest part is that it had been sitting about 5 miles from my brothers house this whole time.

I will be building a power plant this winter and hope to work any bugs out in 2021.

Yes!!! Finally some good news in 2020! I will be there with one Pontiac or the other!

 

Since I attended my first Meltdown in 2013 I would not miss another one, but I definitely plan on attending the final Meltdown. I see the date is in August of 2022. I imagine that Byron will run the Glory Days this coming July but wondering if your final event at Byron is a stand alone event from Glory Days so that it would be in addition to a July 2022 Glory Days event?

 

I don’t have a race car (yet) but I’ll be there to watch!!

This project needs to get finished. It hasn’t been on the track in many years. 1956 GMC that is getting a 454 and Muncie 4 speed update. Our home track is Rock Falls Raceway, home of the Fallout. Now that there will be one last chance for the Meltdown Drags, it’s time to get busy and make this happen!

I made a challenge to @lumpy 63 to get his old straight axle Vette going and I will try to bring the Fly back to life. We will meet there for the first time, since we met here on the HAMB. Good times. If nothing else, maybe it will make me get busy.

The Hilltown Shaker will be there for our rematch with Sheets and Giggles

 

We lost Jay Leiteritz one of our Melt Down Drag/Rock Falls racers on 10-31-20, he had alot of health issues going on for a while and told me that had a blast running the last Fall Out event, he really pushed himself to get there and kind of knew it would be his last time racing.
