Hot Rods Had To Have Another Five Window After All.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ct1932ford, Nov 19, 2020.

  1. As you may know I sold my 32 Five Window (Coleman Coupe) awhile back. I thought just having my Roadster would be enough. After all I am not getting any younger. Well it has been an emotional couple of weeks, having lost a good friend to ALS.
I decided I needed something to keep me busy. I sold this 32 coupe to a good friend five years back. He has not had the time that this Deuce deserves. We finally got on the same page where he wanted to sell and I wanted to buy. So last week I took possession of probably the nicest 32 five window that I have ever owned. So why did I sell it in the first place?
It was so nice I could not bring myself to remove the perfect fenders and chop the perfect body. I still can't believe I will have an un-chopped full fender car. For now I am just getting back in shape, going through all the mechanics and maintenance items.
Fixed a leaking wheel cylinder that must have been leaking for a while by the mess it made. :(
I never finished the car the way I wanted it five years ago, so I am continuing with my vision. Changing the headlights and bar, dropped axle, new springs , front shocks etc. Wheels and tires. Here are a few pictures that don't show much. I have been so engrossed in the work that I have not taken many pictures. I promise to do better. Not Chopped:eek: Full Fenders:eek: We shall see!;) I am enjoying the work.

The wheel and tires will be going, since they are not mine. I have a nice set of 16" wires that are all painted and ready to go. I want to wait until I get the stance right before I buy tires.

Not every ‘32 has to be chopped or fender less. Roll with it.

We gave my sedan a Gentleman's hot rodding back in 2005 and it's been fun ever since. Just like you plan, a dropped axle, lowered springs, juice brakes, and a rubber rake. It's very comfortable, can go anywhere in any weather, and I can see out of it in all directions.

Good to see another return at The Revolving Door Garage, you left out the important feature the FULL HOOD. :)

I'll be doing the same thing whenever I get to my patiently waiting 5W. I'm only 5'10" and I'm not a huge fan of chopped vehicles from the inside, they look great from the outside though.

I love it and since you already have a nice hot rod; I would drive it the way it is. Glad you got it back.
