I’ve always been a fan of A radiator shells in black gloss more than nickel or chrome.

Catching up but on the toxicity of the citric acid... I dip my finger in mine and taste it... if it tastes like citrus its strong enough! Haha! Its food grade!!!

I wonder why it doesn't work better on grease because the citric hand cleaners work really well?

A lot of the citric hand cleaners have Pumic in them, with just soaking there’s no abrasive.

    that would be my guess

I used to tease one of our shop owner customers, when I sold car parts, that the guys who were really cleaning their hands got the kind with pumice the other guys were just using it as a lubricant.

Something like that was the plan with my truck. Big enough to fit a side about 6" deep. And then just soak, flipto another side, and repeat. Truck cab is a bit smaller than a sedan though.

You gonna send us all a bag of jerky? Or me at least lol. Love me some deer jerky. But hot rods wins over hunting so I have to resort to begging coworkers and friends. Or in this case anyone on the internet.

Ah, NO! Actually I didn't do any jerky this time. We had chili made with some of the ground meat last nigh. I wish you had been here. :)

    Plan B is a 1962 G code 394 cid Oldsmobile rocket :D
    8AF98F8E-18D2-46E6-A253-F6A96BB4BDAE.jpeg
factory 10.25:1 compression 330 hp and similar tq this one seems to be drilled for a manual trains pilot bushing witch is from what I gather extremely rare so I’m stoked on that. Painted red to notate it the hot factory motor they did offer one more “super hi compression” that’s like 10:5 and 30 more hp/tq

I say plan B because if the 4 banger sucks terribly this and a 46-8 rear is plan B. 99D5A5C2-05FF-497B-9EBC-CE605DDC8593.jpeg hood sides optional?

in all reality I will be fine with the 4 and this will go in the next project possibly named plan B ;)

either way pretty excited about it and thought I’d share before I shove it under the bench.

And yes, of course I’ll mock it up in the A when the 4 comes out the next time lol

Often plan B is a better idea than plan A.
I take my jerky with Pumic it’s for eating not pleasure, lol.

That would be a different beast for sure. My plan B is a '28 Chevy 171 four cylinder, a totally different direction. Even though we know our 153s will provide ample power for nice drivers there is always that other thing hiding in the shadows of our warped hot rod minds.

I’ve got a crower/ u fab 6 carb for it but I’d want a hood so I think single 4 with a drop base filter of some sort would be ideal.

Lots of little early Indy car detail in this one. Thinking a big long blister to clear the valve covers 351A7706-C904-467F-89CC-640A8CCA00CA.jpeg

On an air filter note I did this rendering of a sectioned 53 ford oil bath air cleaner on the A for a look see.

don’t hate it and it clears? Need to mock up a master cylinder with it 8E192089-A375-4B4A-A47D-F8A1275394F2.jpeg

To me those valve covers are crying out for a classic Olds globe logo of some kind.

Yeah that could be cool. Stamp some out of metal and splice them in where the circle is

I forgot the Tudor is for the Mrs. Definitely save the plan B motor for a T Roadster build like that.

Before it get shoved under a bench my daughter and I mocked up. “Building my hot rod” she says haha.

Even mocked up a cross steer steering box and cardboard column. It needs to be back into the firewall about 3 inches to use the mechanical fan but that also lets the steering box be far forward and clear the exhaust manifold outlets

A few that have made me think an A frame with outside exhaust might be an option instead of TT or 32 rails but it’s a bunch of years off before it matters C7CEA15D-5F2C-442A-8DC7-2ABB7C22C318.jpeg A71F367A-A17F-49D8-950C-F0EBD2ED7E03.jpeg 6B93C3E9-9B98-426F-84D8-80184B3A6258.jpeg 8E36E60D-D0FC-4C27-8B53-653C6C641B67.jpeg C4C71AFE-CB71-4B21-8A4C-6F577A8FD266.jpeg alright back to the sedan haha

Not really. I think a T with anything more than a model A wheel base looks terrible 99% of the time.

makes things harder and rides... well like a model A lol. But it’s gotta look right

  30. Nice score
