Although the car had been retired from its heyday since the '40's, some years later the Codner Special #99 Roadster would be brought out for an appearance on the Englewood oval carrying the American flag for a slow lap during the National Anthem.[IMG]

John Pierce with a 1964 Modified main event win at Englewood Speedway. Don Maus owned this car and Pete Brandenburg did the lettering. Pete would paint a message on the little cartoon guy's t-shirt that would change from time to time. (Brandenburg coll.)[IMG]
