The engine has never been started. Probably was assembled dry - so it can not drip on the floor. <sigh>

    This old guy prefers drivers...

How about those lake pipes you posted, StrayKatKustoms? Is anyone producing those?

I wish they were reproduced. It would be kool to see a lot of kustoms running around with rippled pipes

  13. LOL! I just saw the same pic and thought of asking you if you had it back together yet Jason...

Please correct me if I am wrong. I've not researched the Kopper Kart clone. I kick myself for not taking more than one picture of it when it was in Salina a few years back. Anyway, that close up picture looks like the flexible exhaust that you might see out the hood side of an Auburn boat tail. It appears like a chome side pipe one size smaller than the flex pipe, was slid inside. Old school ripple pipe, I think, were actually stamped/formed right into the actual side pipe.

Kool nontheless ... and like Ed said, its the little details like this that make us like Kustoms.

The Kart did have the flexible stainless tubing, not the true ripple pipe. Barris also used those squeeze-on hose clamps, copper plated, to dress them up

Just a subtle little kustom touch, but makes a world of difference. This kool Poncho has a beveled headlight ring, likely from a '56 F-100 pickup. Really Koooool. Hats off to the builder. Thankfully builder of car did not chose the similar beveled ring/frenching kit available in the aftermarket. Those are really not kool.

Shows the importance of chosing your build style/era and going with it all the way. No Hagen headlight kits, no mini motorcycle mirrors, etc... Just pure HAMB.

Also, thanks @chopolds for confirming my suspicion on the Kopper Kart pipes. I really like the paint inside the tips. Similar to something I have in mind for my future '53 Buick project.

How kool is that? Being on the HAMB isn't a waste of time. We just had a kool Kustom history lesson.....
