For Veteran's Day, one of the toughest! The photographer gets a hard look from Eddie Rickenbacker, as he and his mechanic prepare their Maxwell for the 1915 San Francisco Grand Prix. Despite the effort, Eddie fell out early. In a few months, Eddie would step out of race cars and into fighter aircraft, to become a WWI Ace, and earn the Medal of Honor. Later Eddie would purchase the Speedway from founder Carl Fisher, and see the track through some very difficult years.[IMG]
