Shitty paint matching is my specialty, ha ha! It seems I'm pretty good at doing a shit job, ha ha! ;) Still some layering to go on, to match in with what's left of the original paint.

Nice work on the paint! Maybe all it needs now is some Aussie desert dust rubbed into it! :)

Ha ha, yeah there's a few muddy and dusty events I plan to go to once the roadster is done. I can't wait. I have a vision of what I want the roadster to look like. It's all about having fun with it really, and creating a time capsule of sorts.

Bit of work done today, finally drilled and bolted the chassis stiffening legs in. I also got the subfloor back in and mocked up all the floor except where the seat fits, as this section is recessed to get the seat lower. This enabled a fun little test fit with my daughter and I. 20200719_174141.jpg 20200719_175124.jpg 20200719_152212.jpg

Thank you! Still some paint blending work to do. I take the progress for granted a bit, having it all pointed out to me makes me realize how I've got more done recently than I thought!

Just read all 32 pages and loved every bit of it. Keep up the energy and bit by bit progress. Great ideas all throughout the build, the seat, repurposing couch leather, the parts hunting and swap meet scores. Thanks for sticking to it, I hope you are able to smooth out the PTSD and keep on it. No idea if it might be a worthwhile read, but have you heard of the book "Shop Class as Soulcraft" it's by Matthew B. Crawford. He has a Ph.D. in political philosophy and is a licensed motorcycle mechanic.
Well done young man. Good on ya.
The photo of your daughter is absolutely hilarious and a real keeper.

Slow day today on home renovations, which gave me some time this arvo to work on the hot rod. Rear floors were my task. I've been tripping over and moving this rusty shit for a while! I'm glad to use it for the templates and get it out of the way ;) . 20200806_122852.jpg 20200806_131749.jpg 20200806_131807.jpg 20200806_145749.jpg 20200806_145136.jpg 20200806_151227.jpg 20200806_121406.jpg

Shed time today, waiting on roadster parts to arrive, so I had a play with some other stuff. Put some things online and sold them pretty quick. Keeping inline with my $0 budget to get the roadster done, I now have ordered my new 97 carbs, and E-fire dizzy! I had fun playing with these coupe panels for a few hours, back on the wall for another day now. 20200809_141553.jpg

Some gauges arrived today... long wait! I also have some older gauges in transit. Not much progress, as I've been busy with renovations. Sold some parts for roadster funds too! 20200826_173402.jpg 20200826_160113.jpg 20200827_172520.jpg

Playing around with the tail light/ plate mount today. Also did a little work on the idler pulley fan mount, it's a tight fit! Not sure I'll get enough tension on the idler pulley. I really don't want to run a thermo fan! I also still need to sort out a fan spacer to get the mechanical fan closer to the radiator, is there an easier way? 20200913_160939.jpg 20200913_160933.jpg 20200913_160918.jpg 20200913_160914.jpg 20200913_160909.jpg 20200913_155447.jpg 20200913_155441.jpg 20200913_130315.jpg 20200913_123507.jpg 20200913_123502.jpg 20200913_123448.jpg

Power was off in my suburb today, so I went on a treasure hunt! 20200915_145741.jpg 20200915_151427.jpg 20200915_153207.jpg 20200915_154302.jpg

I’m a little late for this tread, but plain white vinegar also removes rust. Submerge the rusted parts and watch the rust vanish. It doesn’t bring the metal back to bright and shiny but it gets the rust off.

I picked up a gasket kit the other day, and a few other things I like. I also scored a nicer 32 gauge panel than the one that came with the roadster. Small progress, but still moving forward. 20201105_175550.jpg 20201107_105111.jpg .

Yeah I like them, not sure what they're off. I'm enjoying tweaking the looks with subtle differences like these lights. I have a few different styles to choose from now.

Looks like you scored a '33 - ' 34 Dodge gauge cluster also.

Yes, it's a pretty nice one too! I'm thinking I'll mount it in a future project!
