Sadly, Chet's idea for mobile homes just never caught on.

Art Bisch Sr. was born this day in 1926 in Mesa, Arizona. Art flew torpedo bombers in World War II, and afterwards, racing was a good outlet. Art was a regular on the dusty Arizona circuit. He was the Arizona Modified Racing Association champion in 1950, '51 and '53. He also won midget championships in 1952 and 1954. He gravitated to California, dominating the 1956 CRA season. He then moved east to race with USAC, and qualified for his first Indy 500 in 1958. Art would hold off Tony Bettenhausen to win Milwaukee's Rex Mays Classic that season. Tragically, later in the year, Art would pass away as the result of a crash at Lakewood Park Speedway in Atlanta. He was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in 2013.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

  21. Thanks! I didn't realize how long it had been. Oregon has been through a tough year. Our whole area was on fire for a while, with some family members and a few friends losing their homes - and we're all tired of those not following the COVID-19 recommendations like some of us have, so our numbers are spiking, again.
