Ahhh yes, the ‘Hulk-Camino’. 830hp, 5 speed transmission, goes like a bat out of hell. Built by that gang of lunatics at ITW hot rods.

1965 Chevy truck slot mag wheels

    Hello,

So Cal is what seems like pickup truck central. From old custom trucks like the 65 Chevy pickup to the large all wheel drive massive tire pickups, it takes all kinds, that is for sure. One day in my search for a specific address in a different industrial tract, I stumbled upon this cool Chevy pick up truck. It had just enough touches to make is a cool hot rod truck. The slot mag wheels gave it some custom attitude and the blue paint stood out well among the modern factory paint jobs on either side of the parking spaces.

Our introduction to hot rods started with a custom 56 Ford f-100 custom truck that we saw almost everyday in Long Beach. It continues to this day as a favorite form of transportation, although, now, we tend to favor station wagons. When our son was a teenager, we almost talked him into buying a 2 wheel drive pickup truck for his daily driver to high school. I found out from our insurance guy that a 2 wheel drive truck, new or old, was the lowest cost for a teenager as far as insurance was concerned.

If this blue Chevy pickup truck was for sale back then, it would have been a nice addition to our family of cars.

Our son liked the idea of a new pickup truck, but he had a ton of friends and wanted to include them when driving around So Cal. A truck was only good for two. Our pocketbook took a hit with three cars (A station wagon and two sedans) and three drivers in the insurance field. But, it was worth it.
