I'm looking for a thinner blower motor for my heater unit so I can mount the unit a little closer to the firewall.. Anyone have any ideas? Sent from my moto z3 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
They do make muffin fans in 12v that are around 1-1/2" . I don't remember if the speed can be controlled, generally used for cooling electronics. https://www.pikusconcrete.com/3d-concrete-printing/
Could be worth looking at the heater motor in an Aisian small cat - some are usefully small. Or; compact radiator fans come in a multitude of sizes, -down to about 6" or so. If they are too busy (noisey) connect though an ignition ballast resistor - knocks a lot of speed and noise off but still moves a lot of air.
I used a Spal 7" fan with a two speed switch from Ron Francis. I re-routed the hoses with 1/2' copper and them down the inside of my firewall.
There is quite a difference between slow and full speed. It is a roadster but slow works fine when it's not too cold, and I also installed an inline water shut off which can be partially closed to help control the amount of heat. On low it's pretty quite but on high it's a bit noisy and really puts out the heat.

I have no idea what it's from. Just pretty cool and thought it would work well in my 35 Cabriolet. Sent from my moto z3 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I've used computer fans before.. Very thin and some are 12v.. Not as powerful as a big fan but quiet and adequate.... Could probably buy cheap at a computer repair shop....
