Why the gap at the bottom of fuel pump to fuel pump stand? What am I missing besides a book on the subject? Thanks!

It looks like you have a fuel pump for a 59A flathead and a fuel pump stand for the later 8BA flathead.

Ford was famous for making all kinds of "running" production change on parts. they worked but often didn't fit exactly.

OK, Got the rite pump coming, thanks for info.
On another note can I fire this flatty up momentarily without a filter hooked up or do I need the filter to complete the oil flow? Just plug the ports? Thanks again!

Unless your engine has been modified internally, you can just plug the outside ports and run it. Some (almost) full flow modifications involve drilling through some and plugging other stock ports. If your engine had that you would starve certain areas of oil.

If you have an oil pump installed, oil in the pan, you could get away without the filter.
Suggest you plug an oil pressure gauge in one of ports.
AND DONT rev the Dickens out of the engine!
Keep an eye on the pressure while you do this. If it drops big time - - SHUT IT OFF:cool:

Are you looking for the kind that has a fan hub? I think I still have one somewhere. PM me and I’ll send you a pic of what I have tomorrow when I get to stirring around. Getting ready for another wonderful night shift now

The generator bracket goes on first then the fan and bracket bolt to it, I have a fan and bracket that I don't need but probably needs the bearing replaced. PM me if you can't find one but I'm in the middle of the country and shipping might be high. The large nut on the front of the intake holds the generator and the fan bracket bolts to it and they adjust separately.

This pic updates the pic's above as I have installed the ger./alt & bracket, does that change what I need? SBC/BBC sure have spoiled me!

Not sure; ) the fan hub I have somewhere is pretty much like Model A Gomez shows, but my hub is larger and oil bathed.

It looks like you have a wide belt pulley on the alt/gen and narrow belt pulleys on every thing else. The fan will have to match the pulleys you have. Look for a narrow belt pulley fan and change the alt/gen pulley. You have a narrow belt car setup and the truck setups have a wide belt setup. JMHO

My cars are 10 miles away so I can't go out and look, but let me throw this in there: My 50 car with narrow belts, the pumps are offset- different belt runs each pump. So one belt drives one pump and fan, other belt runs a pump and the generator. I think.

The wide belt truck setup, one short belt drives fan. Another belt runs both pumps and the gen.
