Event Coverage 2020 Florida Dragstrip Riot October 31st

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by jakespeed63, Aug 23, 2020.

  1. Hey Fellas(and ladies), May have dropped the ball and not posted this upcoming event. October 31st will be our 4th annual Florida Dragstrip Riot. All the details at website and FB page. Orlando Speed World has been successfully hosting other events, so we decided to go ahead. Seems it may be more for the racers eager to run their cars as much as it is for the fans looking for something to do.
Obviously all "Social Distancing" rules will apply. Everything is outdoors, so no rules about wearing a mask. Although, it is Halloween, so dressing up in costume could be fun and is suggested. Kids 12 and under are free, so bring them out for a fun day.
Swap meet and vendor spots available. Please contact me or Bill for details.

"Everything is outdoors, so no rules about wearing a mask."

Is the virus staying indoors down in Florida?

  3. If you are in the food court, burnout box, timing tower masks are required.
All other areas you need to follow CDC social distance guidelines.

  4. 1 week countdown. Sucks that Billetproof was cancelled, but here's your chance to hang out with all your friends and see some great wheel to wheel action. Plenty of room to spread out and be safe. Not surprised at all the interest, from racers and spectators. we are expecting a decent showing of FED's, Gassers, Super Stocks, Door Slammers, hot rods and Customs.
All the info right here, or feel free to get in touch. JT:863-257-0363

I have known Rick Lucas since 06 I believe. Met Nitro Nellie at the Gatornationals when I lived in Gainesville. Finally met Arlene a couple of years ago. Extremely good down to earth folks. Was part of the pack when I got to drive the tribute JJ FC. Good memories.

  8. Need to download more pictures from my camera, but swiped this one from my friend’s daughter.
Great shot with the whole Jay Wisler Race team and his Fuel Coupe. Poster child for this year’s event. Last year the driver put the front end in the air first pass and broke the chassis. They were back with a vengeance this year.
    That’s me in my
Hot Rod Safari attire on the end. We spent allot of money on uniforms, but so worth it
    Good times

  9. We honored all Grand Marshals past and present with these spectacular awards. Joint venture between Terry Green from BLP Racing, Mikey Ayers Pinstriper and Tony Squindo character artist.
These guys all have thick Racing history. Wish I had time to go into detail. Bo Laws became ill and unfortunately could not attend
We commissioned Tony to do hero Cards for them to sign. Too bad the PA system blue several fuses and we could not announce the autograph session more. Dammit Man!!
