I came across this frame while out and about in the desert. Any idea what it is? IMG_20200227_114838.jpg IMG_20200227_113909.jpg IMG_20200228_103439.jpg

I think it's a 28/29 Essex front axle. My guess, Essex.

Nice to see a southern Utah HAMBer out and about. I have a similar OT rig, too.

She's at my house! I waited just long enough to get a trailer to it and loaded it up. I have a '26 Buick cowl and doors sitting on it at the moment, it actually looks pretty good.

I'd never heard of those until now so I did some research, very interesting.. Too bad the wheel I took the picture of is by far the better of the four, and it's not in very good shape.

Not 28/29 Essex, no splayed rear springs. 1st thought was early->mid 20's Studebaker, but don't think so. They had an Alum ID plate on dr side of frame twixt ale & cowl mount.
I'd start my search knowing the wb length, & then start looking for mid->upper-end cars. I'm thinking orphan-type mfgr.
I've read that alum was fairly rare, expensive, & considered a luxury item in the late teens n early 20's, so those wheels w/the Al rings would be kinda expensive. Even if they are an aftermarket wheel. Also, afaik, disc-type wheels were used predominantly in the mid 20's, circa 23->25 or so, at least by the mfgrs.
    Neat find.
