Hi, Hope I am posting in the correct section. Apology in advance if I am in the wrong place! . Building a '27 Ford Model T Lake style Roadster. Thinking of using this gas tank to change it up from the classic oval tanks everyone is using. Would like to know more about it. I was told 40s big truck auxiliary tank. However I'd like more specifics as this does not yield any results on the web. Seeing if I could find the gas gauge as well as new (brass style) gas cap. Any help would be truly appreciated. Thank you. . 29-5/8"L x 13W x11-3/4"H Doing something sort of like this:
The gauge looks similar to one that was on an auxiliary boat tank that was in a Boston Whaler I used to own.
What’s the outlet? 1/8” pipe is small engine. 1/4” pipe can get you by. 3/8” pipe, perfect. I’m guessing 1/8”.....
Some propane (LPG) tanks have a float type mechanical gauge which looks like it would fit in that bezel.
The nice thing about traditional hot rods is that you are free to use a cool, interesting part even if you never figure out what it came from.
