Hey guys I’m working right now, let’s just say I’m working on a diff in a high demand situation ( gasser if you like) well this heavy duty diff takes 6 gallons of 80/90 and it needs lsd fluid. I can’t get lsd gear oil locally but I can get the little bottles. What’s the mix ratio ?
https://kendallmotoroil.com/product/limited-slip-axle-additive-concentrate/ So Kendall says one ounce per pint. You need a crap-ton of ounces.
6 gallons?????????? Really?!! That's 3 buckets full!! Struggling to picture a differential needing that much, but what do I know! (I really don't know, it just sounds like an awful lot of lube!) Chris
Nope takes a full 5 gallon pail It’s a big diff , I’d take a pic but it’s o/t getting an extra gallon cause I rebuilt this thing so it’s empty right now, refill on a service calls for 5 so I’m guessing a bit more then 5 from completely empty
What kind if differential are you using? The Rockwell diffs in the tandem axle garbage trucks we had to change out didnt use that much oil.
As far as I know, the Kendall additive is a friction reducer which helps to lessen the groan when going around corners. So that would make the LSD less effective. I could be wrong...
Different LSD guys lol yeah I don’t feel like feeding my mind and talking to the white knight !!! Well it’s done 5 gallons and a bit 5 bottles of 8.5 ounce lsd oil n she’s running !! The diff is out of a huge cat wheel loader . Thanks HAMB folks ! Gonna sit back n have a couple of cold ones !
Love that hauler. 32 roadster would fit I there beautifully I'd guess. Chris Sent from my SM-T515 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Nope ya know your dealing with something oversized when the diff has a 1-18th fill hole with a dip stick !!!! Funnel n just pour in from the pail easy peasy lemon sqeazy
