I like both, rods and restorations and for my money that is a gorgeous restoration! Ford hit homer us in '32, '40, and '56. I have a '56 Meteor Rideau Victoria that is waiting its turn and will be restored. The '56 Fords, Meteors, and Mercurys look great either as a Resto, Rod, and some customs...

All that needs in my name on the title and stock exhaust tips under the outer edge of the rear bumper. One fantastic 55 Sun Vallet 55 Mercury. .

I think its a Custom. The stock Sun Valleys came with a green-tinted top insert.

It's a custom because the front bumper bullets were deleted...

    Hello,

Nice photos of a cool, Mercury hardtop. Ever since I was able to impress our neighborhood girls by their coaxing me to drive the piano teacher’s Mercury Hardtop Sedan, I was hooked on driving. It was around the 11 or 12 years old phase. These girls took piano lessons at a neighbor’s house just two houses away from our last Long Beach house. It was a gathering place for the local kids to whittle the time away waiting for their turn at the grand piano.

But, as sneaky as we thought we were, those girls were tempting us with the keys to the new 1956 Mercury Hardtop. The grand piano was in a sound proof room, so the teacher could not hear anything going on in the next room, let alone starting up a car parked on the street. I was chosen as the driver, since they knew my brother had let me drive his 51 Olds.

We took the keys and started our adventure in our own neighborhood. At first it was a short two block drive, then as the excitement grew, we drove across busy streets into show our friends at a park near the junior high school. (A mile or so away.)

This recent sighting of the red Mercury Hardtop was so bright that my wife saw it as we were coming out of the Lowe’s parking lot area heading for the new bank. It was a throwback to the “early driving a Mercury” memory as little pre teens. The newest bank in south Orange County has one of the most supportive customer service departments in any of the banks of the area.

Now, if someone had a cool photo of a white Mercury Montclair or Monterey, we can put them all together for a cool 4th of July photo scene.

OR add it to the Winter holiday “RED” theme for this year.
