Repeat but getting use to the back up camera, makes it a lot easier backing into a parking space.
These Willys sure are hard to see when backing up; handy "tool," Hot rod upholstery 009.JPG

Finally got to attend a get-together yesterday, a group of us gathered at a parking lot then drove over to West Coast Muffler in Concord.
It was "West Coast Muffler's Pandemic Drive Thru," TFF.
They even handed out a dash plaque.
    Took a ride afterwards,

Our friend Bruno and his wife came by in his rare 42 Ford coupe so we took a 4th of July
cruise around our neighborhood and then their neighborhood.
This is a first, we usually have a 4th of July Parade then BBQ back at our house.
This is the best we could do for this crazy 2020.
    My wife drove her 34 with our dog, I drove the W. Lots of waves. Isky of the 4th of July 2020.jpg 2020 4th of July 002.JPG 2020 4th of July 004.JPG 2020 4th of July 006.JPG 2020 4th of July 011.JPG 2020 4th of July 014.JPG 2020 4th of July 015.JPG 2020 4th of July 016.JPG
Hope everybody was able to enjoy this special day, attached,

    Mick

Finally got the car out for our Friday Night Gathering, first time since March.
Met our friend Robert there in his yellow [steel] 40.
We were the first ones there, I took and few shots before the rest of the fellas and ladies
showed up then the batteries in my camera went dead. Dominos Sept 18 2020 005.JPG Dominos Sept 18 2020 007.JPG
Pretty good turnout, almost felt "normal" again, what a year!

You get any kids on bikes hanging around out front to catch a glimpse of your hot rods? I know back in the day I would be LOL. :)

Not so much any more but when families walk by I'll let the kids sit in them.
Same thing at our Friday Night Gatherings.

Not an upgrade, just driving it as much as possible while I still can.

Some friends came over to the house Saturday, then we all went on a burger run in Clayton.
    Over a dozen cars...
Good timing, the "Stay at Home" ORDER started Sunday, unbelievable.
    Here's a few shots,

Some locals don't know our names so they've been calling us
Mr. and Mrs. Instigator because of the hot rod gold leaf lettering.
So, we had Elaine's car lettered yesterday.
Had the lettering pin striping match the flames pin striping so it
didn't look too much like an afterthought.
    See attached; she's happy,
    Mick

We're envious, not of the cars, but of the WEATHER! It's like14* here with Lite Snow. It's been in the teens for a couple of days now and expected to drop into the single digits for the better part of next week.

  24. Love the pictures of the cars and your hot rod lady, Mick. Lettering looks great.

That's what keeps us here in California, the weather.
In-laws are in NJ so I know what you mean.
I send them pictures of kids in shorts playing at our local playground, drives them nuts.

Don Montgomery suggested I use 1934 Ford door pulls in the coupe to make it much easier
to close the doors from the inside, which I did.

Was watching the Discovery Chanel last night [Motor Trend]
and they were showing a Willys coupe drag racing.
Paused it and took a picture of it with the wife's cell phone...attached.
    Anybody recognize the car?

Of all the parts that were hard to find, these were the hardest.
They only off the coupes, not the sedans nor pickups.
The late Jim Horvatis out of NY sold me these after a long search in his attic.
We stayed in contact for a long time. Coupe rear window frames 2.jpg Coupe rear window frames.jpg
    Rest in Peace Jim,
