Driving the Jim Jacobs built 29 from Illinois to Arizona. It's been the trip of a lifetime. 20201018_114714.jpg 20201020_081133.jpg 20201020_095051.jpg 20201020_094910.jpg

    Yep, really nice truck!
What about the shock on the other side, good, bad, same?

  6. Way cool truck and road trip! Even though the breakdowns can be a pain at times, they also make the trip more memorable and likely help you meet some great folks along the way. Praying for safe travels. If the trip includes central Oklahoma and you need any help at all, feel free to contact me.

Great to see that truck being used as it was intended and the trip was good (mostly).

  17. There is no doubt in my mind that Jake's pickup is the coolest hot rod trucks to ever hit the road, the color, stance and wheels, the look is timeless. HRP

I've always preferred the 30-31 pickups but that truck is perfect, everything on it just looks right!

  24. I remember seeing Jake’s,,,Kens truck YEARS ago at “The best car show by a dam site” in Kankakee. I fell in love with long before I actually saw in person. It is absolutely perfect in my eyes. Mitch

Love seeing guys actually driving and enjoying their builds!
I had the same thing happen on a trip with the QA1 coilovers on the rear of my Austin gasser. They were resurfacing the freeway, and no "bump ahead" notice where they'd stopped the blacktop removal at a bridge overpass. I saw it just in time to hit the brakes, but still not quick enough. My head hit the ceiling, and the car leaped off the ground!
Fortunately the eye that broke off was on top, and the top sat in a pocket that trapped the shock. It sat an inch lower, but I could drive it home. Had the end of the shaft tig welded back to the shock, and saved it. I bought a sare shock to change, and two years later the spare is still on my shelf unused.

We were able to keep driving, it was just noisy ass hell. Got it welded back up and so far so good. They are 42 years old so they had a good run lol
