This Linc is Ultimate! (I waited years for someone to Stroppe another Lincoln.) This was truly "THE MISSING LINC".
Hey Mike. That Lincoln is badass.I saw it parked at the shop and was wondering if it was yours.I will have to stop and check that thing out in person next time I see it parked.
would you tell what brand of rear arms you used for the rear suspension? Hope you call it rear arms sorry for my bad english. And do you have more pics of the whole setup ? Thank a lot http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1779388&d=1351810137
Your English is perfect, no worrys. The arms are copys of Chevy truck arms from 60-72 I believe, pretty much the same as Nascar uses. I bought a complete kit, crossmembers, arms, springs, panhard bar from Hotrods to Hell in Northern California. Good luck, Mike.
Thanks! I was trying to find a powerbox that doesn't require a frame notch but I might have to go the same route as you.
Very cool Lincoln..... I have to ask; what wheels do you have on this? I've been looking for some 16" steelies that have the mid-fifties Ford 'hubcap bumps' on them and these appear to have them.
What kind of rear axle did the Lincoln have originally? I am looking for a Dana 53 with 3.54 gears. The Dana 53 is a odd duck. I heard rumor that some Lincolns used it but I don't know exactly which. My '64 Kaiser has a Dana 53 with 4.89 gears. The 3.54 gears would work much better for me, so I'm hunting.
These are 15's off of early 90's ford truck or van. They are made for dog dish caps but have the small kidney bean cutout similar to a Rally wheel. Thanks.
Yes, the Lincoln had that odd Dana in it, most that I have had had a 3.31 ratio if I remember right. I know a guy with some parts cars if you need. I know that 52-55 did.
Yeah. 3.31 would be even better. I need tall gears to go behind a diesel in this thing. The front is a Dana 44, which is easy to get a 3.31 ring and pinion for, so a set for the rear would put me in good shape.
There were at least two rear gear ratios available for '52-'57 Lincolns; 3.31 was the most common,3.07 was standard for '56-'57. If you can access the 'Export Options catalog'(also known as the 'factory cheat sheet') for the Road Race era, there should be a listing of available ratio options.
