    "The King", Clark Gable. Gable was a "car guy". I met him several times in the 1950's, he had a '55 T-Bird with a McCulloch supercharger, and he would cruise through the Big Boy coffee shop in Toluca Lake. Yes, he did a little street racing...

    Clark Gable and his wife, Kay Spreckles (she was the heir to the sugar company) in front of Granatelli's shop in Santa Monica (note the Supercharged script above the Thunderbird script on the back fender)...
