Yup ... Cultus Lake. Not a good spot to go on a weekend, but week nights are pretty quiet. Except for the bit of noise I made coming and going
While I was out on Vancouver Island I managed to get to a VIHR Covid social cruise in Nanaimo and met up with fellow hamber @Stllrng. with his Y block powered pickup. Great guys and some delicious hot Canadian bacon.
I’ll try to remember next time, this trip out was a bit of a marathon between getting there and helping my dad out and then trying to get back home. Relaxing and fun was limited but at least we had a little bit.
I posted these earlier on IS JOHNNY CASH MISSING HIS CAR. Here is the update. To start, thanks NED for the photo shop version. Here is what I have found out. From where I stopped for gas in small town Saskatchewan and spotted this custom, I continued on 90 miles to see my buddy, who's sister lives in the town of 475 people where the car is sitting, she got me the owner's name, I tracked him down and this is what he shared. He saw it when he was 15 and loved it, took him 15 years to buy it, and he has owned it for decades. The car was built in 1956 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The builder had hopes of producing them. It is on a 1956 Ford frame, all fiberglass body, no engine, windshield is the back window from a 1957 Ford. When he started finding the roadblocks from the government on making cars he lost interest and no work has been done since 1957. There was never a name for it but the owner calls it his Fiberglass Boulevard Cruiser.
My grandparents lived in Swift Current from their retirement to their passing and for that reason, we spent countless weekends and holidays in "Speedy Creek"... Long story short, my family members often regurgitate, "Only in Swift Current" which is an honest, fair assessment. Oddities seemed the norm and my favorite among favorites was a business along the Trans Canada highway named "The House of Batteries and Bathtubs." .
You’d probably like the sign that used to be on a little roadside place near where my dad lives on Vancouver Island. It’s changed names now but it used to be called Pratalinis pizza and video rentals. I always wondered what the penalty would for not returning the pizza
I am so surprised that there is not more subscribers to this youtube channel. He does a great job on his videos. .

I had intended to give my car a good wash before it was put away for good this year but the fall got away on me and I was still driving it. Then yesterday it snowed...so it’ll get the bugs scrubbed off in the spring. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
