This is a 1971 Chevrolet 402 Big Block just removed from long term dry, heated storage where it has been since 1975. Casting number is 3969854, Date A471, front pad T0113CLB. This engine was removed from a 71 Impala that was totaled in 75 and has been stored since. The air cleaner said 300HP and the car had reportedly 52k miles at that time. The engine does turn, spark plugs show no rust or corrosion and the engine is complete minus flywheel, alternator and AC compressor.
