  6. While perusing the "toy trucks and busses" thread, I ran across a submission from "safariknut" showing a Philippine jeepney. While in the Navy, I visited the Philippines 11 times, and had ridden in jeepneys many times. Jeepneys were created after ww2, from Jeeps left behind by the US army. Originally I posted this on the "toy trucks and busses" thread, but this model (even though it was advertised as "pressed steel") is actually diecast, with a few steel parts. Searching on line, I managed to find one in very good condition (they ceased making these 35-40 years ago)... 20201019_093541.jpg 20201019_093744.jpg 20201019_093612.jpg

I found this sad 34 at the resell shop today for $5. Striped it down. Got the dremel out and cut the fenders and running boards off, flipped the front axle and turned the front wheels inward. Going to strip it to bare metal and paint the interior. 20201027_125509.jpeg 20201027_131014.jpeg 20201027_161922.jpeg

After sitting in a box for a few years, I finally completed a larger scale design model I had made for my full size Custom 56 Chevy ElCamino build. I had modified a diecast Franklin Mint 56 Wagon and recently the model got finished after a friend airbrushed the colors for me.

Sorting out a bunch of misc. toy parts which included this 50's Chevy Suburban metal toy truck. It looks to be about 1/18th scale. Missing are the interior, windows, chassis and one rear door. The truck has no marking on the body to show which toy manufacturer made it. The graphics are still nice and say New York Central Track Maintenance and along with the front bumper extension suggests it was a railroad themed toy. I have been checking on the internet but have not come up with any information. If I can find the missing parts it would make a nice winter months restoration or a fun modified Custom project. Any help to identify the toy truck or to find parts would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I think the brand might be MIRA, there are some on eBay. Hope this helps. Ed.

Thanks edcodesign, I checked some images and the casting does look very much like a MIRA diecast you suggested. Tried a more detailed search and still cannot find images of a railroad track maintenance like the one I got. If I decide to do something with the truck, I guess I can try to find a beat up MIRA Suburban to get the parts I am missing.

  15. Great garage Ed. I'm sure he loves it. I played with my two yesterday. It was in the 70s. But to keep with the thread. Here's some old guys working on their 32's. 20201110_125556.jpeg 20201110_125513.jpeg 20201110_145859.jpeg 20201111_135150.jpeg 20201111_134939.jpeg 20201111_135016.jpeg

  18. Good Model A Tuesday. Great photos of your A, with a cool background Ed. So I thought I just to add a few pictures of some A's also.

  25. Ed, That's a shelving unit I built for the TV. One side is for the wife's Barbie dolls. Some that were hers when she was a kid. The other side is for some of my old toy cars.

It is, has been, or will be Tuesday somewhere...

I finally got around to building some more flash drives after a long hiatus. Here's one I finished today. '64 Nova wagon gasser. This one, and others, are available on my Etsy store if you need any last minute stocking stuffers.
