Customs It’s alive!!! A 1959 Regent tale....Coming in the future.

Sitting here making lunch for my toddler, looking through pictures and this car has made previous brief appearances on the H.A.M.B. in a few different threads and a background picture or two taken in my shop. As I was drooling over gotgas’s forward look mopar this morning I thought that this car should be my next project.



This is when I brought it home, I bought it out of Edmonton from Dean of Dean’s greasy flips if you follow cold war motors on you tube, if you don’t, check it out.



Even made a Christmas card one year.

The car is solid except the rockers and headlight brows but since forward look cars came new with rust there I call it a success!

Yes it’s a four door sedan base model car but all the parts appear to be there other than engine and trans, I happen to have a good running 361 auto sitting in my shop.

For the six people that have seen my other threads this will be the same level of cheapness and halfassedness that you are used to seeing here!

Feel free to comment, ideas, laughing at me, shaking heads at my stupidity, etc! I won’t be doing anything until the Fargo is together next summer so until then shower me with inspiration.

Dean is a hoot! Id have bought the car just to hang out with him and Scott for an afternoon....well....maybe....nice project! Love Cold War Motors....

 

I hadn’t seen any of the you tube stuff when I bought it, the first time I watched I was thinking I know that guy from somewhere...

Right now there is the Regent, Fargo, Chrysler convertible, a 59 Custom Royal, an off topic Ford pickup, an 18’ Boat along with a half dozen or so engines and miscellaneous other shrapnel as well as all my tools/equipment...oh and a quad and a 930 Case tractor!

Only old mopar I've ever owned was a 55 Chrysler Windsor.

Ok, I've got popcorn, big cup of pop on ice, some of those little chocolate things with the sugar balls on them (sugar balls was my stripper name back in the 80's btw) had my feet propped up til Ashley told me to get my shoes off the furniture , but anyways, i wanna see this thing on the road! Cold weather is coming my brother, time to get moving don't ya think?

 

Won’t be any progress this year big guy. Maybe next summer.

What you see as procrastination I see as not having a heated shop!

 

He can’t make winter progress the shop isn’t heated.

Don’t waste the pop just drink it, you can pour it out 20 minutes later

I don't usually go for green but I like the color of your Fargo.

 

Update time!! Ok not really, trying to make some more room in my shop I started moving stuff around, I’ve been tripping over the 361/727 combo for the regent for a few years so I decided to set it in the car. Not a bolt in it but at least it’s out of the way.

Hey that's progress! More progress than I'm making on my stuff!

 

I have everything to assemble the car…just need to actually do it.

 

I know that feeling. I have thousands of dollars in parts and pieces that need to be bolted on, welded on, installed, fabbed, wired, etc etc. Hey! Once I do that Ill have an old car to work on all the time! Aint this a great hobby!

 

What!!! You live in the great white north and don’t have a heated shop!!

 

Nope I don’t, plans are too build a smaller building for a shop and keep the current building for cold storage, all in due time.

 

My hopes are now that the truck is on the road to get the regent running and driving next summer, unless I decide to start painting the convertible….
