I actually made a YouTube playlist a while back of guys driving their hot rods through the windshields. Just exhaust and road noise. It's pretty relaxing in the background lol.

On the way home from checking on my folks. Old US66 east bound. Sorry for the bug guts but not really. Shows that banger powered doesn't always mean they crash into the back window IMG_20201017_104044589.jpeg IMG_20201017_104218409.jpeg IMG_20201017_104428583.jpeg IMG_20201017_104529940.jpeg IMG_20201017_104656049.jpeg

    Hello,

11 years after seeing a red Ford Falcon convertible coming down the street with a healthy, powerful motor sound, a photo through the windshield was a surprise. As a toddler, our granddaughter loved playing in the garage. But, when she heard the powerful motor fire up somewhere and rumble down the street, she would always run to the middle of the driveway and wait for the closing sound. When the red Ford Falcon convertible came cruising by, she waved at it and then ran back to where we were waiting. She knew not to run in the street and we felt safe standing only steps behind.

    upload_2020-12-7_4-3-7.png memories from old folks...

Over the years, the convertible has been seen, but it was a random event. So, in talking about a car for her new status of pre driver’s license, her choice, of course was a convertible. What is it with girls and convertibles? Once it was a Jeep with a roll bar, then it was a cool sedan, throw in Grandma’s various powerful station wagons into the mix and it is a confusing choice for a teenager.

Of course, any convertible will be on the insurance, expensive side for a teenager. So, driving a safe and sound AWD station wagon might be the answer, if the vehicle is free. Then, my wife would be able to spend money to get a 400hp AWD station wagon that is about the same size, but 100 hp more powerful. Why would a person need 400 hp for daily driving? She grew up with high horsepower in most of the cars we have owned. So, it is natural to have a reliable AWD station wagon for going on long road trips, while we still can…once this pandemic is over and the places are safe.

But that red Ford Falcon convertible still hangs in the mind of people, just because it sounds so nice and powerful. But, look at where the convertible action takes place? It is a pretty good looking interior.

After a day’s ride on our custom Harley Sportster, how can anyone say the wind in your hair is a good thing? When you look like a Frankenstein’s Bride 10x over and have to comb out the hair tangles and knots… A convertible is the same, except you have some protection all around you. Tangles abound…
(It is the feeling on the Harley, AND the convertible when moving in the wind…)
