120919897_3479650512094568_4516417626442654523_n.jpg Does anyone know about a full fendered 32 roadster that Delorean supposedly owned? Had Chrysler wires, 39 tailights, rounder cover over the gas tank with recessed plate, chopped white top, and dk blue or black in color. Anyone have any info about the car or pics? Thanks!

Hard to tell but the Deuce on top is either a Cabriolet or a 3 window.
Old photo or are the cars still there?

The one on top is a 3W and sold a few years ago. I'm working on the roadster right now. Just trying to verify any provenance/history.

I have a stack of old magazines I just looked thru a month ago. Could of sworn I read his name in a show coverage article. Remind me in a week or two if I forget.

DeLorean worked in a body shop in 1948 as a WWII returnee. This is according to the Wikipedia article about him. Sure sounds like it could have been his. Please post more updates.

"While back in college, he worked part-time at Chrysler and at a local body shop, foreshadowing his later contributions to the automotive industry. DeLorean graduated in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering.[citation need"

Thought I had a deal, then the seller backed out and decided to do Ebay, if anyone is interested. Bid currently at a tad over 20K. This car has an early hot rod history, just don't know the details.

good example of what happens to a car stored in a damp cement block building. probably tarped, with moisture coming up from the cement floor too. such a shame, think how nice it was when it was put in there in the 50's

It a shame it sat like that, the other photos show it looks pretty crusty underneath. I’m sure there is more history prior to the DeLorean connection.

I doubt Wangers would have known much if anything about this. This was from way before their paths crossed and it’s not like the two were buddy-buddy.

Best bet would probably be a delorian biographer (assuming there is one). The only delorian book I’ve read is one he wrote.

He has 2 kids. They are still alive. That is another route. The movie about him was fascinating.

Reading the description the seller only says his dad bought it from DeLorean. Might be John, or it might be his brother George, a life long car guy. It could even be some other DeLorean, with no title to be had there’s no paper trail to follow.

It looks like George DeLorean is still around, looks like he did a guest appearance at Stahl auto museum in January. If someone can figure out how to contact him, maybe he can fill in the blanks

Provenance/title or not, I see a pretty solid and complete full fendered Deuce roadster survivor Hot Rod! It's a fantastic find and start. Typical lower body/door rot, fairly easily overcome.
Hopefully owner is willing/able to secure lost title through MI. DMV.

Saw this on Facebook when listed for less than 20k.
    from wikipedia
While still a profitable company, Packard suffered alongside other independents as it struggled to compete when Ford and General Motors engaged in a price war. James Nance, president of Packard, decided to merge the company with Studebaker Corporation in 1954. A subsequent proposed merger with American Motors Corporation (AMC) never passed the discussion phase.[21] DeLorean considered keeping his job and moving to Studebaker headquarters in South Bend, Indiana, when he received a call from Oliver K. Kelley, vice president of engineering at General Motors, a man whom DeLorean greatly admired. Kelley called to offer DeLorean his choice of a job in any of five divisions of GM.[22]

The VIN is stamped in the frame, drivers side, just in front of the firewall. They start with an "*".
