    This should be easy
    Name the car
    Name the driver
    Name the track
    Name the movie

    There were two Lakelands as you point out. TN was a road course with a quarter mile incorporated. I think it has been defunct since the late 70's. That is where the photo of some filming of Two Lane Black Top occurred like I said in my answer.

    1962 was the year this then-teenager got started. One of the first races as crew/mechanic was Green Valley Raceway in Smithville TX. Found a pic taken at that race. Delmo Johnson in his #125 against Bob Schroeder driving one of John Mecom Jr.'s Corvettes. Dallas vs. Houston. At the finish line it was just this close. Delmo won. All of them are gods to me.
    ETA: Looking close you can see Delmo had to add numerals to his usual car number 1. Delmo had a thing about being car #1 and usually ran that number. Even at Sebring.

    @jimdillon,
    Have you noticed the availability of really inexpensive '70s & '80s Vettes lately? If I were looking to build a drag racer or road racer (which I'm not) I'd have to look real close at using one of these.

    I know they are off topic here but your post shows that what was once considered a throw away car is now bringing crazy prices. I bought my '56 in 1970 for $800, a running, driving car. Sold off parts and pieces not needed for my drag car for more than my original outlay. After having a bunch of fun with it, sold it for $4500. Even considering inflation and the cost of upgrades, still a great investment.
    Of course, the '58 fuel injection that I paid $80 for and sold for $800, would be worth $8000 today.

    Bruce, I recently sold a 58 Vette project on ebay and was quite happy with the sale. Hopefully the buyer was as well, in that he wanted to build a restomod, which not much of the finished cars are as the General sold them. Some completed cars sell at reasonable prices and some projects sell at more than expected IMO. I see guys say that relatively nice cars should sell in the 30s (which I am not sure I agree with for the most part) and if the project is under $20,000 they seem to attract a decent group of buyers. I did not pay all that much for my cars back when and only wish I had bought more. I do believe though that there will be a day of reckoning when the prices of some will start to decline. Hopefully that day will not be any time real soon.

    @jimdillon,
    I'm safe from buying any more Corvettes unless I find my old '56 or you decide to let loose of your chopped drag racer. Any new purchases are tempered with the knowledge that the final cost would be the selling price plus 1/2 of everything I own.

    Sure would like to know more about the location of this photo, appears to be Northwest ish. That berm in the background looks similar to the berm on the short straight between turns 8 & 9 at Pacific Raceways. The fogged, panel, and flames on that car, great!

    John Harvey custom painter of Los Lunas NM formerly L.A. and Canadian expatriate's street '58. A dedicated drag car that previously had a Ford Hemi. John ran a BB Chev and later a Chrysler Hemi. His street version runs a blown BB Chevy. Photos by Pat Ganahl.

    I believe that one was in Hotrod not too long ago. I remember reading about it.
