Box found in my fathers closet after his passing. There are personal driver written letters to my family in here pretty amazing.

I’ll be sure to share as I go along. Going to be scanning everything here and eventually making a book out of this. Enjoy.

Tonight just starting with a overview of the little book.

You sure stepped into it knee-deep there, didn't you? The ticket stubs and pit passes alone are worth the price of admission! ;)

WOW, what an amazing find. You might want to contact the Indy Speedway Museum and see what you really have. That stuff could be very valuable to a collector. You are one lucky guy!

When my kids go through my stuff all they will find is golf tees and crown royal bags. This is way better!

That's incredible and the condition of everything looks like it all was issued yesterday! Definitely a time capsule!
What's the back story? Did you know about this stuff? How was your father and his family involved? Inquiring minds want to know!

Trying to figure this out my self. My father passed in April. Found this in his closet. He never mentioned it. Honestly i think he forgot he had it. Only clue on the box say to Jeff from Glenn. Labeled “racing days”. Jeff was my father. Glenn was apparently a grandmother to my father. My sisters middle name is glenn. Tons of hand written autographs written from the driver to Glenn.

The only remnants of my father being in this box is his ticket from when he went back in 1982.

It might be worth some research. Ernie Triplett was a Pacific Coast sprint car champion in the '30s. Maybe your dad's grandma and Ernie had some sort of romance going. Heck, maybe you're related! Looks like a scrapbook that your great grandma kept highlighting Ernie's achievements. Either way, it's very cool!!

The plans to scan everything. Then once my sister and I have a overview of everything we have, will start connecting the dots and connect the clues. Between ancestry, google, and other family documents we should be able to link some stuff up.

    Thank you.

@carothersbs thanks for sharing these rarities right up Hamb Alley...It was a Beautiful time in Print and Racing and as others have said the Condition is so good on some of these I wouldn't have imagined it to be that old...the dating clearly states otherwise...It was a very dangerous time in motorsport...

So what was your fathers profession? He must have had clearance to get into the pits or knew someone in the Teams ie. Ernie T. Perhaps he may have knew someone related to a racer and was given or purchased these artifacts...
