28-29's hands down on all body styles....except maybe for a 30 roadster on a 32 frame.

    I'm pretty fond of 30/31's ... but like @Fitnessguy I'm pretty biased

  7. Really like the curves of the 28-29 grill shell and fenders, but this '31 does it for me, and that's why it's been in my garage for the last seven years:

  8. Well.... we have a 29 sedan. At the time, I really wanted a 30 or 31 as I liked the smoother cowl and more flush front door seam, but I’ve come to love it.
I just made a deal for a 30 coupe last night with 48,000 miles and super clean.
Way too nice to cut up....not. D7B37388-4BDB-4ED8-BCA8-DD5E26B5701B.jpeg

Man, this is a tough one as an A fan. There are some incredible examples of awesome coupes. For me, I lean toward 31. The grille shell on a 31 is my absolute favorite out of all shells - including 32s.

For trucks, the 28/29 is pretty awesome. Especially when hot-rodded in the late-60s style.

Roadsters, I lean toward 28/29 but, like the coupes, I think there are some awesome examples of each.

I love all model A’s. Born into an “A” family, and learned to drive in this one: 87298260-D56C-4D4D-8C22-61E1A54CC4D4.jpeg

  15. My very first car was a 1932 Ford 5 window coupe which was short lived, but the first hot rod was a 1930 Model A pickup. HRP

  16. I have always thought 30-31s looked like they wanted to be 32s. To me 28/9 are just the perfect hotrod shape. The beading, the cowl break, the fender lines. Just realized I have a 29 Tudor AND a 29 Phonebooth PU! Sometimes you don't think about things in storage!

  17. That right there, is why i like 28-29 better. & for the same reasons, Those front fenders following the wheel radius, just makes a clean looking car

the first photo you posted is my favorite Model A build style. 28-29 Sedan , stock top and a nice rubber rake.

    # 2 favorite would be a chopnchanneled 30-31 coupe.

    Both! I have my avatar, a '29 Sedan and a '31 roadster pickup and a '31 coupe.

  20. My 1929 Briggs four door. The doors are flush with the hood sides unlike the two door coupe, roadster, or pickup and they have the flat top door windows unlike the arched Murray doors. Plenty of room in the back for grand kids, friends, stuff you bought or found to haul back home. All stock banger with mechanical brakes just like Henry designed it and millions of other people drove.

  21. ...I love Model A's and are one of my favorites to draw/sketch,..personally I like the 30-1 coupes and closed cab pickups a bit better, but all of em are cool.

Well, Model A's were the first old car I got interested enough in to learn about them. This was back before I was in high school. So I've always liked all of them. But, having said that, I do lean a little more to the '28/'29 because they have what I think are more graceful lines. It's why we have this:

Gotta say 28-29 since I've had a sedan of each year, and still have the 29. As has been said, fenders, grille, cowl, make the difference for me. But if the right deal on the right 30-31 came along I would be the proud owner of one. After all, it's a Model A right?

  26. Thanks Danny.:) Yeah, that little coupe is like an old friend. It's also good therapy. Do a late night burn out on an old country road, and life is good again. lol Ron...........

The 30-31s came first so I view it that 32's are a refined 30-31. Just my opinion but the Model A roadster has better lines than the 32.

I like both groups of Model A's. Prefer the 28-29s. Same reason as those mentioned before.

When I first got interested in Model A's, I preferred 30-31s but bought 29's because they were cheaper. My preference back then probably was from some of the styling that carried into the 32's. Now I think the 28-29s have more character.
