Ive finally found the perfect 1936 Ford to build and keep. Patience paid off. It has had a fairly recent high dollar restoration. I’m going to put in a 286” 8BA, 5-speed for power. Dropped axle, reverse eye springs for stance. Lincoln brakes to stop it. And 7.00-16 and 5.00-16 Excelsior Stahl tires for tire rake. Eventually I’ll chop the windshield and top. 8. It's often said to start with the best car you can find. I think you did.

What a great car. These were about the end of the roadster era at Ford. I don't think they produced a lot in '36.

Ford produced 3862 Roadsters in 1936 and just shy of 5000 for 1935. So under 9,000 for 35-36 body style. Very rare indeed.

Wow, with that Columbia I'd think twice about going to a five speed.

    .

I’ve been struggling with that decision. The Columbia appears to be rebuilt, but it is missing all of the controls, only the axle is in the car. I have everything for the 5-speed swap and could sell the Columbia for a good bit of coin. I think I would enjoy driving it more with the 5-speed fully synchronized transmission.
