Just finished up my part in this '64 Vette that seems to tame for the other 2 Vette threads. Short story; Friend owned it just before he went to Viet Nam, came home sold it, missed it , so bought it back years later. It had been trashed by some wannabe owner that tried to install a BBC in a SBC Vette. Years ago I built a 413 Lunati & 5 speed for it, than he found the original #ber's matching 327 & 4 speed for it so here it is sans the hood. Daytona Blue with a very fine flake, looks dark blue in the daytime, Black at night. Hate to see this one leave!

I think it would be welcome in the Corvette hotrod thread. Looks like a nice driver, good colors.

Just found this 10 year old pic when it had the 413, dual quads & Tremec, still no hood!

They are wonderful Cars! My Dad had a 64 silver blue coupe 300-327 and a powerglide. That color reminds me of a friends 63 coupe. It was an injected 4spd car. My brother had a 63 roadster 327-340 hp. and I had a 59 that had a 327-340 put in it and a 4spd. We were a vette family!! That would be a nice one there to have. Lippy

Used to know a guy with a dark blue '63 four speed roadster. His landlord owned it in the early 1970's, had a wife and two kids, while Jim was single and had a four door Maverick. Traded straight across for the Corvette! Got to go for a ride in it once, what a car!

I also own a midyear vette. Bought it back in 1976. Payed a hole $1000.00 for it. 1967 white and black roadster. 327 350HP. 4 speed. After 44 years still having fun with it.

I started to post this to the other 2 threads but after seeing the content I didn't think that just slapping on a set of Cragar's made this one a "Hot Rod". It would be insulting to the owners, builders & racers that have paid their dues to upgrade, improve performance of their Vette's. Back in the day, on the street, with the 413 it could be considered a hot rod I guess, just not now that it has been tamed down. That was my thinking anyway!

Now I know people have been known to hot rod the Chevy six popper but to me those 53/54 sìx cylinder Corvettes have always seemed to be the red headed step child.
