Successful debut. Just like it never happened. Ran good. No real issues. Hope to run again next Friday at the Texas Motorplex. I didn't take any pics or video. I'll see if I can find some.

Lots of compliments on the fiberglass front end.

Pop taught you well, and it shows in the fact it runs like it never happened.

We were pitted just north of you this weekend. Other than the primer on the nose and the wrinkle in the rear quarter, just looked like another day at the races for you. Your fiberglass guy did a fine job. Enjoy watching you guys run. Wish I had a stick shift and straight front axle so I could run with you guys with my stude.

Found some from Saturday. Scheduled to run this Friday night at the NHRA Fallnationals in Ennis, TX. The other D/GAS car from Iowa is coming down to run me probably in front of a good crowd. Hope it holds up to the hype..lol.

Video from last week at Little River. The run where no one is in the other lane is actually the first run after the crash. Out of order a little bit..

We only got to make one run Friday night but we made the most of it. We had a lot of interest in the cars. Tons of people asking questions about the rules we use. It was more of an exposure/marketing event. They will probably ask us back again. Hopefully we can get more cars next time.

A bit of an update. I made arrangements to get the front painted back like it used to be. I originally thought I would be ok with it being primer but it doesn't look like the Bad Banana. The front is at the body shop now. Hope to have it back before the season starts.

In the meantime, I added to the stable. I made a deal with Zak Hall and I am the new owner of the Homegrown 57 Chevy. Aquired it minus engine and it will be another DGas car here in Texas. I am working on getting it ready for 2021. The plan is getting it turnkey and renting it or selling it. We need more finished SEGA cars in Texas and if nobody is going to get any done, I guess I'll have to build them..
    Lol.

The coolest quote I’ve heard on the hamb in a long while!

I am finally going thru a box of my dads stuff that I never went thru piece by piece. I found this receipt dated 12-7-1967. I am pretty sure this was for modifying the front springs for the Bad Banana. I remember him talking about this and the time frame lines up. I know the springs were stock Econoline that were shortened and this makes sense. He cut the main off and formed a new eye and installed new bushings. The 2 1/4 spring width confirms it for me. The receipt was with other old performance catalogs and similar stuff.

I really doubt this guy is still making springs...lol

Quite a bit cheaper than I paid last summer for the junk the guy in Fort Worth made... 20210125_203232.jpeg

  26. Congrats on the 57 Rusty! And, I can't wait to see the front end back all yellow. Wish I would have had time to get that done before it left the shop.

  29. When I saw the notification...I have to admit I was hoping it would be an update with a painted front end. But, a running 57 is cool too. :D

Things are behind on that car. I have several things I am waiting on besides the front. This car will keep me busy until I get all the other stuff.
