Hi , we are pondering fitting a 4 or 7Lb pressure cap under the original 32 radiator cap on a recorded original radiator. Just wondering the best way to locate the new cap under the original to disguise it. The single centre screw doesn't at first glance lend itself to much .

  2. How about adding a new neck like Walker does on their reproduction radiators?

You can cap or plug the original hole in the top and still use your original radiator cap. HRP

Yep we have a walker like that in our 32 coupe as its a hi boy. This one as its already recored we cant Really go that way .

  4. Can you use the stock sealed cap and put one of Skip's check valves in the overflow tube to pressurize the radiator? Think those are about 4 pounds; but don't remember for sure as it's been a while we used one on an "A" radiator.

    Cheapest route to go.
Yes skips relief valves are 4 lbs.
I’ve used the 2 lb brake pressure relief valves on some of mine. Works great. Much cheaper than skips valves or changing the neck.

Presently the water burps out the unpressurised cap onto the hood and screen ,not out the overflow, well I guess some goes out the overflow judging by the brown on the axle and sump. Oh yeah B4. No nothing is blocked and cap has a new rubber seal and seems to register all the way around the neck. Did a test for a head gasket leak and came back positive so swapped that out And surfaced head with no obvious defects. We keep the water level relatively low and it does not overheat. Still burps water out. New water pump and thermostat. We can top it up to see how much is lost and generally a bit over half a gallon, Like 2.5L which equates to .6 of a gallon . then we generally let close to that amount go again.
New radiator and new OHV banger should eliminate that issue . Coming soon.

If it is an original non-pressurized radiator, it will still have a vent tube that is visible under the rad cap that runs through the top tank and along the side mounting plate to deal with.

No ,the vent tube is gone . We fitted a modern filler neck In the original position with overflow tube ,in the hopes we can run a recovery system . I can see trying to fit a modern cap under the 32 cap is going to be sketchey at best. The filler neck is already at a fixed height, and controlled by the grill shell to neck spacing.
