I have a question about a 1995 Chevrolet 3500 Van engine. The Van engine is a 4 bolt engine and cars engines are 2 bolt engines I know that. I also found out that the cylinder heads are different. My question is, does a cylinder head from a 350 car ( Camaro or Caprice ) will fit and work on a truck / van engine?
Car engine's and truck/van engine's were two different animals in '95. Car engine's had reverse flow cooling while the trucks were standard flow and had different cooling passage arrangement's between the block and head's, and swapping between the two would cause overheating issues. Also, if memory serve's, '95 car intake manifold's had the 8 bolt pattern and trucks and vans had the 12 bolt pattern, so there's that issue too. So, long story short, No, it won't work. I'm going off of memory here, so I could be wrong.
in other word, look at both of the heads, see if the intake bolts holes look the same...if so, they'll swap, if not, they won't
Also, make sure the truck block has been machined for mechanical fuel pump if your still using that. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
